I have been attending Devslopes Web Academy and my experience has been great, the instructors one on one communication has been crucial to my learning web development, the course work has been easy to follow along with, they teach you the skills you will need going forward like researching and finding answers to your questions, then the freelancing part of the course is equally great as they teach us how to market our skills we are learning to get real-world experience and gain confidence in our new-found skills, I would rate my experience with Devslopes at 5 stars
Devslopes is a great academy. They have great instructors who genuinely care about their students. The weekly meetups are a great way to get questions answered and encouraged. Before I started Devslopes I was stuck in an endless cycle of starting tutorials and never finishing. Devslopes has given me the support I needed to truly learn how to code. Now I have the confidence to take on personal and professional projects and most importantly finish them.
I am a current student of Devslopes Web Academy. In order to satisfy my desire to enjoy more outdoor activities, I have opted to leave my career in the aerospace industry to pursue opportunities as a developer. Devslopes was my choice because the program includes mentorship and feedback directly from instructors. This has proven to be true with my experience so far. The feedback given is thorough and beneficial. The aim of Devslopes is to teach students how to become developers and how to land real jobs. There is a Freelance mentorship division and career development section designed specifically for the latter. 👍 👍
Devslopes is an amazing academy, I came from a previous dev bootcamp where there was no 1 on 1 mentoring nor support after you graduated. Devslopes is the complete opposite! They mentor you throughout the whole entire thing, providing support however they can whenever they can.
The constant open communication is key to learning, having a mentor helped grow my skills 3x compared to previous bootcamps I took where they just went through the motions and handed me a piece of paper.

Jason from the web dev program is awesome! His teaching method is clear and concise, and he really knows how to keep you engaged. He explains things so that you not only know how they work but why. He's showing you not only how to code but to design website flows as well.
Anytime I submitted an article or project for review Jason was quick to respond with tips and recommendations of how to improve via a video, and any additional questions I had were answered via discord right away.

The projects are key to this program, the course is built so that you learn by doing. You watch Jason complete variations of the project and then get tasked with matching a spec (ya know like how ya would in real life). It feels authentic an accurate to what the job is actually like. It really takes you from 'someone trying to code' to a developer. Your mindset changes, and you get into a flow because of these projects.

The freelance content is amazing! every week Nathan does a live call where he goes over tips and tricks into getting your first freelance gig and really goes deep into the strategic aspect of selling yourself as a product. His attitude and energy are what keep you going and his tips 100% work.
--Overall--
I highly recommend Devslopes to anyone serious about breaking into tech. The modules and teachers are top tier and the support from the community and staff are unlike any other I've ever experienced.
If you want to change careers this is the place to do it!
Before joining Devslopes, I was teaching myself how to code by either watching YouTube videos or taking a good amount of courses. After all of that, I felt like I didn't really have a sense of direction of what I really needed to learn in order to become successful in Web Development. However, since joining Devslopes, I am making excellent progress with half the struggle I used to go through when teaching myself. The mentors here really do help guide you and answers any question you may have but also allowing you to think and try different things out for yourself.
Hey guys, I want to shout out my appreciation to a couple of guys at Devslopes.
Alan Hill from the Android Academy has been an exceptional mentor. He has been incredible at teaching me more than I thought one man could in such a short time. Not just about development, but also about deployment, clean code, continuous integration testing, working professionally and effectively in teams and much more.
Secondly, Nathan Sevedge in the Freelance academy has been insanely helpful. He worked with me helping set up a freelance agency and coached me to learn how to sell my skills and present my best sides.
These guys have been spectacular. Words can't say how much I appreciate them. I appreciate so much the care they have taken and never rushing or leaving out a detail. Their patients are super normal. They give out of themselves completely, and it has shown in me. They should be Avengers!
Thank you guys for being such a huge part of my journey! Keep up the incredible work. I'm having so much fun as a professional developer!
I've been in the academy for a few months now, and I am pretty happy with the program so far. I had been learning to code using various online materials before joining Devslopes, but I felt like I was without direction. Devslopes gave a direction to go in, as well as a community of fellow students as well as professional developers I can go to in order to help, be helped, or just bounce ideas off of. There is a Discord server and there is also a weekly Zoom call for whomever wants to join. If you want to learn more about doing freelance work, there are also periodic (either weekly or daily) Zoom calls in which you can speak with Nathan, who leads the discussion, and other students also interested in the freelance world. I have never joined these, but I plan to once I have learned more about JavaScript.
Learning to code is hard work; do not expect to be spoon-fed in this program. There are some things you may have to figure out or do research on by yourself while you are completing projects. This is what being a developer is all about: problem-solving. If you take responsibility for your own learning and use the resources that are available to you, you will succeed in this program.
The skills that I have learned have real value. I recently made a basic website for a friend's restaurant, using only HTML & CSS (plus integrating a 3rd-party service on the backend for a form submission), and he has expressed interest in buying it. I am working on finishing Module 5 / 12.
The tech world is always changing, so I hope the academy stays up-to-date in what it teaches, but what I have learned so far has been very valuable.
Im the type of Guy who's bought literally dozens of Udemy Course's Web development, marketing, design, the whole shebang of skills I thought I needed to learn, but I got nothing to show for it 5 years later. Its only now at Dev Slopes that i'm actually making progress BC the people here understand what it actually takes to make it as a developer. 90% of this crap is mental, and the mentors here help you to get your head together / the mindset of a high quality developer, all the while teaching the core skills you need to actually make money in this field which is ultimately all that matters, so absolutely recommend Devslopes to those that can afford it. The freelance advice alone is worth the price of admission
I have always been interested in coding, had taken courses online with not much success. The difference with Devslopes is that you have guidance and mentorship, you know exactly what to learn and when in doubt you can ask questions on their discord channel or on weekly meetups. Also mentor gives you the challenge to learn by yourself when working on project assignments. So program is guided, but you have to think your way through, and that's how I think you get to learn how to think as a programmer (thanks Mr. Alan). I'm very happy with devslopes, right now I'm working with Nathan on the freelance course, I'm getting ton of advice on how to get my first job as a developer, working on creating proposals, resume, learn how job networks work (Thanks Nathan). I have even made new friends from my course. It's been a great experience, so happy I joined Devslopes (Thanks, Mr. Mark).
The whole team is great for developing your coding skills. One of the best parts is the mentorship is the 24hr support to all the students. The whole atmosphere is very relaxed, the positivity is great, everything they say is true. Highly recommended and value for money.
GUYS! I can’t stress this enough. Stop looking around and just go with Devslopes. Amazing team from day one! Real people that care about you’re future and will do what it takes to get you there. Most importantly they will be with every step of the way. Don’t wait three years like I did to make a decision!
I am recommending Devslopes over the simple fact that they offer IOS development, Android development AND Web Development. It’s a bit difficult finding a stable and reliable company that offer those and for such a great price along with support and the precise one-on-one consultation when enrolling and making the decision to get started. I’m from the Bahamas and I'm very happy that I found and chose Devslopes. I'm loving every minute of it and it's bringing my dreams to reality!!
Devslopes has helped me jump back into web development teaching me best practices along the way. The support I've gotten has been great. The mentors help you with any questions you might have. Everything is thorough and you'll be set to start getting freelance gigs within weeks as long as you are committed to put in the work.
